The story of 47 Ronin focuses on a group of Samurai warriors who have to band together to avenge the murder of their leader. It seems all too appropriate that in the same week we saw the 47 Ronin movie trailer that we would get the Japanese poster for the Keanu Reeves film.
Reeves is an unlikely hero, but is exactly what the group of Samurais needs. They will have to cross a savage world landscape filled with mythical beasts and a multitude of challenges… not the least of which is witches.
47 Ronin hits theaters in 3D on December 25.
The gang’s all here in the latest poster for Muppets Most Wanted! At first Movie Fanatic was not happy that Jason Segel and Amy Adams wouldn’t return in the sequel to The Muppets. But given the story for the sequel, it is easy to see we will not miss them.
Filmmakers have taken our beloved Jim Henson characters and sent them across the pond for a European tour when they get sucked into a world of espionage that involves stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell (recently seen in the Mr. Peabody and Sherman trailer) and Tina Fey. And all are front and center with the Muppets in this latest poster teasing the film’s March 21, 2014 release date.
The one-sheet premiered over at EW, and we were thinking, the Muppets Most Wanted teaser trailer has been out now for a few months… think it’s time for a full trailer previewing more of the comic mayhem from our favorite felt characters.
Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner are all standing tall, ready to rule the news world once again after their stint in San Diego.
This time out, they're going global as they have joined the CNN-like Global News Network. This is the early 1980s and this fresh invention will change the world. And you know with the Action News Team in the mix, it will also be hilarious, even more than historical!
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues hits theaters December 20 and cannot get here soon enough. To get you in the mood, don't miss our Anchorman quotes!
Earlier in the summer, we featured the arrival of The Best Man Holiday trailer and could not have been more thrilled to see the gang from The Best Man back together. From Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Regina Hall, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Soussa… it was fantastic to see where all those actors who got a career boost from the original film found their characters 15 years later.
But, it wasn’t until our Morris Chestnut interview where he told us about The Best Man Holiday that the film entered the realm of must-see for Movie Fanatic. The story of the sequel and the kinship Chestnut talked about the cast having like not even a day went by… is extremely compelling. Now, Universal Pictures has released a holiday-themed poster featuring the entire cast to get us in the mood for some Best Man Holiday cheer.
The film lands November 15 and is the second holiday-themed post of the day! Just this morning we featured the A Madea’s Christmas trailer. Should we be thinking about a tree already?!
The big screen version of the stage spectacle Walking with the Dinosaurs has debuted its poster. 20th Century Fox has brought to life, using never-before-used technology, a world in 3D that makes audiences feel that they are… well, Walking with the Dinosaurs.
The crux of Walking with the Dinosaurs follows a dinosaur that no one would expect would amount to anything, much less survive in a world populated by literal giants. This little guy bucks his fate and rises to greatness.
What made the stage show such a smash was how the technology made the creatures that appear to be from Jurassic Park come alive. One can only imagine what it will be like with the magic of the movies behind the story. Look for Walking with the Dinosaurs on December 20.
The International Fleet is looking for a few good… kids? Ender’s Game has released two new propaganda posters from the film that brings Harrison Ford back to sci-fi!
Ford is Colonel Hyrum Graff, and it is his responsibility to train the next generation of interstellar fighters that may hold the key to keeping humans alive for another generation. Thus, the first propaganda poster truly says it all: It’s us or them!
Previewed in the Ender’s Game trailer, Asa Butterfield is potentially “the one” they have been looking for, who may hold the key to ending an alien threat once and for all. In the world of Ender’s Game, children are seen as the best trainable souls to head into battle. Thus, the theme of our next poster: Seeking leaders.
Ender's Game also stars Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis and Hailee Steinfeld and lands November 1.
Paramount Pictures has released the latest poster for the next chapter of Johnny Knoxville’s Jackass, if you will. Bad Grandpa stars Knoxville as the ornery eighty-something Irving Zisman.
The film is in the Jackass vein of hidden camera pranks played on unsuspecting folks, and this time out, the protagonist is Knoxville’s Zisman. As we see in the poster promoting the October 25 release, he may have had a few too many beers and it’s time for a nap.
Fresh off the Zisman gets a ride Bad Grandpa poster and the Bad Grandpa trailer, audiences should now have a pretty good idea about what to expect with the latest from Knoxville, that out-there prankster!
In Last Days on Mars, a space crew is on one of their final days of a historic mission to Mars. The crew of Tantalus Base, led by Liev Schreiber (last seen as LBJ in The Butler), believes they have found fossilized evidence of bacterial life.
It is an astounding discovery, if only it didn’t lead to utter horror. The film’s first trailer and poster have premiered, and from this early tease, it appears to be pushing the sci-fi/horror element to its fullest.
Schreiber is joined in the cast by Elias Koteas, Olivia Williams (Hyde Park on the Hudson), Goran Kostic and Tom Cullen.
Look for Last Days on Mars when it hits theaters December 6.
The sons have been getting all the spotlight on Asgard! What, with the Thor and Loki character posters arriving last week and that Loki character poster making a splash, it’s nice to see poppa get his moment in the sun.
Marvel Studios has released an Odin character poster that features Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins in all his Asgardian glory.
As seen in the latest Thor: The Dark World trailer, much of the action takes place on Odin’s Asgard, and for us… that is a very good thing. To get more of Hopkins in any movie is always a good thing. Heck, try to imagine Red 2 without him… It wouldn't even be the same movie!
The latest Ender’s Game poster has landed and it features the entire cast for the upcoming sci-fi thriller. Harrison Ford returns to sci-fi in Ender’s Game to portray Hyrum Graff, an International Military training officer charged with turning young kids into fighting machines.
As seen in the Ender’s Game trailer, Ben Kingsley is International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham who is overseeing Ford and his training of one particular student who may be the best ever… Asa Butterfield’s Ender Wiggin. The young man masters fight simulators like they’re a video game and gives his commanders hope that this pilot could be the key to getting the upper hand on any military conflict that comes their way.
Ender's Game also stars (as seen in the above poster) Viola Davis and Hailee Steinfeld and lands in 3D and 2D on November 1.
